This course satisfies the gun safety course requirement to apply for a concealed weapons permit in Florida. The course covers general gun safety, Florida law on carry concealed, use, possession and transportation of firearms. The majority of this course will be held live online using a video conference platform. As per Florida law, successful completion of this course requires instructor supervision of each student discharging a firearm with live ammunition. As such, a short portion of this course will take place in person at a local range. The firearm and ammunition to satisfy this requirement is furnished. Instructions on applying for the permit will be covered during the classroom portion of this course, and upon successful completion of the course, each student will receive a certificate to present with his or her permit application. Students must be 18 years or older to take the course. However, permits are issued by the State of Florida only to qualified persons who are 21 years or older. No previous firearm experience is required to take this course or apply for the permit, but continued training to gain confidence and proficiency with a firearm is highly recommended upon completion of this course. The course fee does not include the range fee. If you would like to attend, please click here to register.
