Our range qualification events are for completion of our Florida Online Concealed Carry Course. Per Florida law, anyone applying for a Florida concealed weapons permit must first take a gun safety class. As part of the class, Florida law requires that each applicant demonstrate safe handling of a firearm to the instructor by discharging live ammunition. Our Online Concealed Carry, together with this range qualification, satisfies this requirement. Participants will be firing a semi-automatic pistol at a paper target. Qualification consists of safely handling and firing the pistol as taught during the online instruction. Participants are encouraged to bring their own firearm and about ten rounds of ammunition. However, any participants who have not yet purchased their own firearm will have a pistol and ammunition provided to them for this part of the course. A prerequisite to this course is our Florida Online Concealed Carry Course. If you have not yet taken the online part, you can register for it by clicking here. If you have already taken the online part and would like to register for the range qualification, please click here to register. Space is limited so make sure you prepay from the successful registration screen to reserve your spot.

As such, a short portion of this course will take place in person at a local range. The firearm and ammunition to satisfy this requirement is furnished. DUE TO THE SOCIAL DISTANCING POLICIES BEING PROMOTED THE LOCAL SHOOTING RANGES HAVE RECENTLY OPENED, BUT ARE LIMITING THE NUMBER OF PERSONS THAT MAY BE PRESENT ON THE RANGE AT THE SAME TIME. ALSO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE MIAMI OFFICE IS PRESENTLY CLOSED. Accordingly, it may take a few days until we are able to qualify you at a range to complete the course. There is no expiration for the taking of this course, so if you have free time due to the closure of your business or place of employment, this may be a good time to take care of the two-hour online part of this course. Instructions on applying for the permit will be covered during the classroom portion of this course, and upon successful completion of the course, each student will receive a certificate to present with his or her permit application. Students must be 18 years or older to take the course. However, permits are issued by the State of Florida only to qualified persons who are 21 years or older. No previous firearm experience is required to take this course or apply for the permit, but continued training to gain confidence and proficiency with a firearm is highly recommended upon completion of this course. The course fee does not include the range fee. If you would like to attend, please click here to register. Description

During our range meets, we run a series of drills to train for competition and/ or real life situations where you faced with the defensive use of a firearm. For drills, we use paper and steel targets and moving targets. We train drawing from a holster, commencing from a seated position, from the prone position or any combination. Some range meets will involve the use of both rifle and pistol in transition drills. During the fall and winter, we take advantage of the early sunsets to run low light drills, involving the use of a flashlight. The range meets involve advance use of a firearm requiring a level of confidence and proficiency in the use of a firearm beyond beginner status. NRA Range Safety Officers are present throughout the entire meet to foster a safe shooting environment. Participants are required to bring their own firearm in safe, working condition, 200-300 rounds of ammunition, 3-5 magazines, a holster (for pistol drills), a sling (for rifle drills) and eye and ear protection. Participants are limited to persons legally qualified to own a firearm under Florida law. Presently, the minimum age to purchase a firearm is 21 years old, except for law enforcement officers and military personnel who are at least 18 years old. If you would like to attend, please click here to register. Space is limited so make sure you prepay from the successful registration screen to reserve your spot.
